Introduction
Have you ever asked yourself any of the following questions?
- How do I correctly import my transactions from Exodus?
- Where do I get my XPUB or wallet address from my Exodus wallet?
- How can I import transactions from a blockchain not supported on Accointing?
This article will review the answers to these questions and more so you know you’re heading down the right path.
Importing your transactions via API
You can import your Exodus transactions into our platform automatically by selecting the blockchains you want to import and entering their public keys. This section will cover adding your wallet and getting the required keys.
Connecting your Exodus wallet
You’ll start by adding your Exodus wallet to our platform. The following steps will show you how to do so.
- Go to the “Add a wallet” page, and in the search bar, search for and select Exodus.
- Select the “Automatic” connection.
- Enter the blockchain, and it’s associated public key into the associated fields.
- (Optional) Add any additional blockchains by selecting “Add Coin”.
Next, we’ll review how to get the public keys needed to add your wallet via API.
Getting your public key from Exodus
Getting your public keys from Exodus is fairly straightforward if you know what you are looking for. First you’ll need to know that there are two different addresses that Exodus provides. You can either get you XPUB address or your receiving address. Both are considered to be the public key required to make the API connection to our platform. The one you will need depends on the blockchain you are using. The main rule of thumb is if the XPUB address is available then that is the one you will need to use.
The following steps can be used to see if an XPUB address is available for your chosen blockchain.
- Launch Exodus and open your wallet.
- Select the blockchain you’d like to import.
- Open the asset menu by pressing the icon on the right.
Now you should see the option to export your XPUB listed here.
If that option is listed then pressing it will export your XPUB address to your desktop. You’ll just need to paste the address on the field provided on our platform. The XPUB address should be the first one listed on the file you downloaded. See the file below as an example.
If the option to export your XPUB is not available, then you’ll need to use the receiving address instead. You can do so by pressing the “Receive” button shown below.
That should then give you your receiving address as shown below.
You’ll then just need to paste the address into the field provided on our platform.
