Custom tokens in Accointing
Accointing pulls price information from CoinMarketCap to keep you up-to-date with the value of your portfolio in the volatile crypto market. CMC has the most well-known currencies listed but many small-cap altcoins are not yet listed there. If they are not listed on CMC, these assets will not be automatically recognized by Accointing
Accointing introduced a feature that lets users create their own custom tokens for coins, tokens, NFTs, and other assets that are not listed on CoinMarketCap. (Optional)
1. Creating a new wallet (Optional)
(If you already have a wallet/exchange connected with a custom token, then feel free to skip this step).
(If you have a wallet/exchange that is not officially supported by Accointing, please see this article.)
Go to the Wallets page in Accointing and create a new wallet by giving it a name like "Custom Token Wallet", clicking on it, and choosing "Type data manually".
Now that the wallet has been created we can start adding our custom token transactions to it.
2. Adding custom token transactions to the wallet
Here is a video on how to do this step.
We can add transactions to the wallet we just created by clicking on the pen icon on the top right, and choosing the "Form" option.
Clicking on the "Form" opens up the view where we can create custom token transactions.
First, we determine the type of transaction (Deposit, Withdraw, Order, Internal), the date and time of the transaction, amount and other regular information that is needed when creating a trade.
Create a custom token by writing the name of the unsupported token to the Currency box and clicking on the "Add as a new currency".
Next, we input the transacted amount of tokens by filling the Amount box and the USD price of the transaction by clicking on the "Edit" button under the Custom token we just created.
In this example we are depositing 150 custom tokens and the value of deposited funds is $150, which makes the price per token $1.
Now we click on save, and we can see the custom tokens listed on our Wallet in the Wallet-page and also the transaction listed on the Full Data Set.
Now we have successfully created a deposit for our custom token. It is important to remember that selling / transferring the tokens does not automatically get tracked by Accointing and we need to create another manual transaction for that.
